Because enough is just never enough. Here is another pic of little Mr. Frieze. I can't wait to meet him. :-) He'll definately fit right in, he's already learning his products :-)

The Newest Memember of The Carpet Place

Meet Mr. Frieze, isn't he a doll :-) He lives at the Tigard store, so I haven't met him in person yet. I hope to soon, though. Enjoy :-)

Back to the Grind

Today is Aaron's first day back to school. I must say, it's bitter sweet, and I'm having a bit of a hard time with it. I have enjoyed having him home and he has been spoiling me rotten. We've had six weeks of actually seeing each other, not just passing in the hall as we are on our ways to work, school, ect. I'm also glad that he's going back, because everyday is one day closer to his graduation and becoming a dentist. I will be so glad when he is done. It's been harder for me to be patient, especially since we are over the half way point. I know I need to be patient, but sometimes I really struggle with it. So, that is what's going on in our neck of the woods. Tune in on Tuesday for a very special treat! God Bless you guys :-)

My Future Dentist, isn't he handsome!!!

Update

Well, Rosco seems to be doing well, according to my mom. He's feeling better and the hard thing now is to keep him down, because he wants to play. As for Max, we are scheduled for his pre-surgery appointment on Oct. 4th. We're shooting for Oct 17th for his surgery. We'll know more later and I will be sure to keep you all updated. God Bless!

Fur Babies Aches and Pains

Hello dear friends, I hope all is well in internet land. Those of you who are frequent readers know that our dog, Max, tore his ACL and is awaiting surgery in October. On Monday I called our Vet to schedule his pre surgery work, which will happen Oct. 4h. We're shooting for his surgery on Oct. 17th. Anyway, I got home Monday night and my mom called me with some ironicly awful news. I was expecting to hear that my childhood dog, Rudy, who will be 17 had passed. That, thankfully was not the case, and he is alive and well. Unfortunately, the news pertained to Rosco, my parent's 8 year old German Shepherd. He tore his ACL that morning and needs the same surgery as Max. It's crazy, something that we have never experienced has now doubled. Luckily for Rossi, he's scheduled for his surgery this Friday. So please keep our pups in your prayers. Love Lauren

Politics, Good Friends, and Long Walk

Okay, so the title of this post should sum up just how random this post will be :-) First off, I am absolutely thrilled about the McCain, Palin campaign. I know their both politicians, but Sarah Palin has a very geniune presence. I really enjoyed her speech at the Republican convention. I'm also very excited about McCain. I with most, but not all, of his policies, and I really admire his service in the war. What an amazing story and what courage. Okay, enough of my politics for now, time for the next random thing.

On Monday night we got to spend a great evening with an old friend, Max, from Flagstaff. He and Aaron went to highschool together and have continued to stay friends over the years. We went to McMenamins (yumm!), Aaron's dental school, and had a nice round of Season 5 of The Simpsons. It was a lot of fun, and really great to see someone from home.

Finally, the last bit of randomness. Today Aaron and I went for a very, very long walk from our house to Mount Tabor. We took Little Missy, aka Leila, with us. She was sooo, tired by the end, and has slept the rest of the day away. It was really nice just to get out of the house and take an "urban hike." The whole thing took us almost 2 hours, round trip, and was simply delightful. I hope all of you in computer land are having a great week as well. God Bless!

Winter Ball Gown Idea :-)

So here is a sneak preview of the gown I want to recreate. However, I'm thinking of using a sage green taffeta with a peachy/ orange sash. I'm starting to get my patterns together and figure out exactly how I want the costume to look. I'm getting super excited. I also have a neat idea for Aaron. I will post a picture as soon as I find one that really embodies what I'm imagining.
God Bless!

In the real world, Aaron and I have had a rough and stressful week. We are fine, as a couple, but we just have had one of those really awful weeks. From our family and friend's pets (Dasher, Grandpa's cat, and Michele's, our manager in Tigard, dog) passing away to a really awful experience with a new church we attended in Vancouver. So please keep us in your prayers. Love Lauren :-)

Poor Dasher Do :-(

I received word today that Dash, my SIL's beloved Jack Russel, was killed by a car. I always referred to Dasher as my nephew, because he was Leah's baby before they had Zachary. Please pray for Leah as she goes through this very difficult time of morning her pet. We'll miss you Dasher Do :-(

Parade Of Homes 2008

My company was privleged to provide the surface materials for another beautiful Parade of Homes home by Barton Brother's Construction. We also were invited to attend the opening VIP night to tour the homes before the general public. It was alot of fun to see all of the houses, but my favorite, and I'm not being biased, was definately the Barton House. Here are a few pictures of the interior. Enjoy and God Bless! (the pictures really don't do the house justice)

Book Meme

I was tagged by Sarah, at Romantic History, eons ago to do this Book Meme. So here goes :-)

Rules:

Link to the person that tagged you, post the rules somewhere in your meme, answer the questions, tag six people in your post, let the tagees know they’ve been chosen by leaving a comment on their blog, let the tagger know your entry is posted.

Who is your all-time favorite author and why?

Oh, that is an unfair question... I have so many. I think if I had to choose it would be L.M. Montgomery, who wrote Anne of Green Gables. This series was one of the first books that my mom read to me from infancy and I have always loved them.

Who was your first favorite author and why? Do you still consider him/her to be among your favorites?

My first favorite author was Laura Ingles Wilder. I have read her entire series and as a child I would play pioneer and covered wagon. I was always Laura's best friend :-)

Who is the most recent addition to your list of favorite authors, and why?

I'm really enjoying Baronees Orzcy right now. I'm reading her book the Scarlet Pimpernel. I think my interest stems from our ORS group and my love of the late 18th century.

If someone asked you who your favorite authors were right now, which authors would first pop out of your mouth?

Charles Dickens, the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, J.R. Tolkin, C.S. Lewis, Shakespeare, L.M. Montgomery, Laura Ingles, Chaucer, and that's all I can think of at the moment.

God Bless :-)

Berry Botanical Garden Picnic :-)

Yet again, we had a spectacular picnic with the ORS. It was the final picnic of the summer and it was beautiful, though a little too warm. We played Graces, Whist and walked around the amazing grounds. I think the best thing about the event, was the private location. We had the place all to ourselves. Here are some pictures of our little gathering. Aaron has posted all of the pictures here... Berry Garden Pictures. Enjoy :-)

1 Year Ago Today...

We drove to Sandy, OR to pick up our little birdy boy. He has come so far in a year's time and I know everyone says this, but I can't believe we've had him so long. Here are some pictures of our baby. We love you Giconi Bird.

Our Garden

Well, it appears our kitchen garden may be late blooming, but is still turning out to be successful. It's so much fun to take God's creation and watch it grow. We harvested our peas and purple bush beans last week. They were super yummy. Right now we are waiting for our tomatoes and cucumbers to ripen; the cucumbers seem to be taking over the garden :-) We are continually harvesting herbs for various dishes. Last night we made a roast and stuffed parsley, rosemary, and thyme into slits on the surface. It is soooo yummy and infuses the various flavors through the roast. I'm am so grateful that we have our little plot of land that actually grows plants :-) As a desert girl, I never had the chance to garden, so I'm enjoying this alot. Well, I should be off to check on the rice cooking on the stove, here are some pictures of our progress. God Bless!

Love Lauren
