Maryhill Museum

Hell Dear Friends and Readers. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Aaron and I are doing well, keeping busy, and just living life. I kind of feel like we’re in this strange limbo, that hinges on his graduation. I’m trying to be patient, but it get’s the better of me sometimes. Anyway, I have been meaning to do a post on Maryhill Museum for two weeks now. So without further adieu, here we go :-) Enjoy!

Projects...

Hello my friends and dear readers. I hope your weekend is starting wonderfully. Mine is going to be filled with silks, satins, and yummy cottons. It's that time to restock on fabric and start some new projects. This time around I'm making a more complete wardrobe for hubby. He's getting two new shirts, a new frock coat, a new pair of breeches, and a couple of waistcoats. I'm also going to make some new creations for myself. To top things off, Joann's is having a 1/2 off sale on their silks. I will so be going there :-) Here are some pictures of what is in the works. God Bless and have a great weekend. Love Lauren!

Another Chemise a la Reine from Marie Antoinette

The Robe a la Turque to complete my Robe a l'Anglaise that I made earlier this year.

A similar frock coat and waistcoat for Hubby. (Picture from Chenille et Papillons)

And some thing along these lines for Hubby, as well. He will be totally Scapet Pimpernelled :-D

Portland Tea Party...

Hello my friends and readers. I hope your week has been wonderful :-)
Aaron and I had a wonderful opportunity to be part of a little piece of history. As many of you know, there were Tea Parties protesting the Governments wasteful spending popping up all over the country. Our neck of the woods was no different. We decided to join in and excercise our right to peaceful protest. I have never ever been part of a protest before and many of the thousands of people who joined us had never protested before either. Afterall, how many conservative protests have you heard of? Anywhoo, it was awesome and awe inspiring. My favorite part was when they read speaches from our forefathers, like Thomas Jefferson. Their words still ring true today. I loved being around like minded people who felt the same way as we do. It was a true piece of history. Here are some pictures of the event. God Bless!!! Love Lauren

The Ball...

Sorry for making you all wait for my post. We had a simply wonderful time at the ball. The venue was lovely, the food was excellent, and the dancing was great fun. It was also a pleasure to see Aaron's parents enjoying themselves, especially Aaron's mom. She danced and danced and had a wonderful time. One of the highlights of the evening was meeting a fellow blogger. You all know her as Lissawi from A Fair Prospect. She and I had been frequenting each others blogs for quite some time and last night, we actually got to meet. We had a lovely time, talking as though we had known each other for years. It was such a wonderful evening. Without further adeu, here are the rest of the pictures. Enjoy!
