Inspiration...

I am in love with the late 1790's

I need this cloak, or should I say I need to make this cloak.

I've been researching 18th century umbrellas and I found this beauty from my era.

I love her gown and shoes. The hat is just not quite me.

I want to get my living room looking like this someday.

Happy Friday!

OMG, the first one is stunningly gorgeous! I neve used to like the rising waist of the 1790s, before it had the slimness of the 1800s, but recently I fell in love with it so bad. It's so classical and natural, and so soft anf feminine. And the hair! Not as huge as the 1780s any more, but still more soft and natural than the later updos... Ah, I am so with you on that period now. :-))

Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I've been in love with the 1790s for some time now... it's so delightfully transitional! I cannot say I like all elements of it, but still, I love the experimental nature of the period's clothes. It has the beauties of both 18th and 19th century!

Lovely! In the last portrait, I believe the lady is wearing a cap. Though married, I still haven't been able to bring myself to embrace the fussy and over-trimmed articles. Those shoes, however...
